Nise Tablet is a medication that belongs to the class of drugs known as Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs). Its active ingredient is nimesulide.

Uses:

Nise Tablet is primarily used to relieve:

  • Pain: It is effective for mild to moderate pain, including:

    • Headaches

    • Migraines

    • Nerve pain

    • Toothaches

    • Sore throat

    • Period (menstrual) pains (dysmenorrhea)

    • Arthritis (like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis)

    • Muscle aches

    • Post-operative pain

    • Pain associated with sprains and strains

  • Inflammation: It helps reduce redness, swelling, and discomfort associated with inflammatory conditions.

  • Fever: It also has antipyretic properties, meaning it can help reduce high body temperature.

How it Works:

Nimesulide works by blocking the production of chemicals in the body called prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are involved in processes that cause pain, inflammation, and fever. By inhibiting their release, Nise Tablet helps to alleviate these symptoms.

Dosage and Administration:

  • The typical dosage for adults is 100 mg twice daily, usually for a maximum of 15 days.

  • It is generally recommended to take Nise Tablet with food or milk to minimize the risk of stomach upset.

  • It's crucial to use the smallest effective dose for the shortest possible duration necessary to control symptoms.

  • Always follow the dosage and duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not exceed the recommended dose or take it for longer than advised, as this can increase the risk of serious side effects.

  • This medication is generally not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

Potential Side Effects:

While Nise Tablet can be effective, it may cause side effects in some individuals. Common side effects include:

  • Nausea

  • Vomiting

  • Diarrhea

  • Stomach pain

  • Heartburn

  • Loss of appetite

  • Dizziness

  • Headache

Serious Side Effects (require immediate medical attention):

  • Signs of stomach bleeding (e.g., black, tarry stools; vomiting blood; severe stomach pain)

  • Signs of liver problems (e.g., yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), dark urine, severe fatigue, persistent nausea or vomiting)

  • Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing)

  • Signs of kidney problems (e.g., changes in urine output, swelling)

  • Irregular heartbeat

Important Precautions:

  • Liver Disease: Nimesulide is metabolized in the liver, so it is contraindicated in patients with liver problems. Regular liver function tests may be recommended if used long-term.

  • Kidney Disease: Use with caution in patients with kidney impairment. It is contraindicated in severe kidney impairment.

  • Heart Conditions: Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart disease, high blood pressure, or stroke, as NSAIDs can increase the risk of cardiovascular events.

  • Gastrointestinal Issues: Individuals with a history of stomach ulcers, bleeding, or other gastrointestinal problems should use Nise Tablet with extreme caution or avoid it altogether.

  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Nise Tablet is generally not recommended during pregnancy (especially the third trimester) and breastfeeding. Consult your doctor for alternatives.

  • Alcohol: Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Nise Tablet, as it can increase the risk of stomach problems.

  • Other Medications: Inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements, to avoid potential interactions.

Always consult with a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis, treatment, and personalized advice regarding the use of Nise Tablet.
